#4 - Soul Eater
My favorite thing about Soul Eater is that it takes old ideas like Medusa and Frankenstein or Death Gods and throws them into one wonderful cacophony of a plot. The ability for some people to turn into weapons while having others wield them just makes me grin.
Or the fact that this show is completely terrifying without being scary. Which also makes me grin
While the character development in the anime isn't as much as it is in the manga, the anime still does a better job then most on exploring how kids grow up and how they can work together, especially in the extreme case of this show where they fight to survive.

Soul Eater is an amazing representation of the battle within one's own self and it takes my #4 spot.
