Week 2 - Day 1 - Favorite Anime

#5 - The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi

This show is so far out in left field that Suzumiya would pretend that the left fielder was the pitcher. Yet it makes complete sense once you get the hang of it.

This one is in my top five because of the absolute ridiculousness of the show. It feels more similar to the classic science fiction - a god that doesn't know she is one that hangs out with three people that she willed to be there, while the story is told from the point of view from a completely normal person, who literally doesn't give a damn. But we know he really does.

While the plots are always really interesting and different, this show is made by its characters. The character balance between these five is extremely unique considering the fact that Koizumi and Nagato usually tend to be background characters. The main story focuses on the relationship between Suzumiya and Kyon, usually including the torment of Asahina, yet - even with Koizumi and Nagato being more neutral characters - the five of them need to be present to get the best parts about this show.

There is literally nothing like this show out there. So enjoy the characters.

There's Kyon and his neutralism:
