Bechdel Test

I am adding the Bechdel test to my reviews. For more info, check the tab above or just click here. I'm also going to work on adding them to old reviews but it won't be a priority.

Basically, for a movie to pass the test, there has to be at least two female characters that talk to each other without talking about a male character.

This test is just a way to check how the stories we consume are constructed and if it passes something so simple. Hint, a lot of big movies fail this test really badly. Lord of the Rings, for instance, only has four named females in the movies (Rose, Arwen, Galadriel, and Eowen) and they are all in different places. I think Eowen sees Arwen once at the end.

It's not perfect; if a movie or show fails, it doesn't necessarily mean that the story is bad or if it passes there might also be blatant sexism. It's just something to keep in mind.
