Week 1 - Day 3 - First Anime Ever Watched

Favorite Fight - Goku vs. Frieza

While the Cell Games was the climax in my opinion, it's the Goku vs. Frieza fight that really established Dragon Ball Z as a hard-hitting, anything goes show that takes forever but you really don't mind.

That's it for Dragon Ball Z. Next Week is my top 5 favorite anime, one for each weekday.

Week 1 - Day 2 - First anime ever watched

Favorite character - Future Trunks

This one is hard for me since they are all fairly stagnant. While I do love DBZ, there really isn't all that much character development in the show. You do have Vegeta and Piccolo but they just kinda switched sides. They're still violent and they never really had to pay for all the damage they did do.

My fav from DBZ would be Future Trunks. He saw some shit. He had a hell of a life and he did everything he could to stop everything from going wrong.

I mean look at the dude:

He goes super saiyan the same way goku did

 

 

He uses a sword and has some pretty badass hair

By far one of the most wicked and traumatized characters of the series and that is saying quite a bit coming from DBZ.

My second favorite would be Gohan but his post-Cell character kinda kills it for me.

Week 1 - Day 1 - Very First Anime You Watched

This week’s theme is Dragon Ball Z!!

This show, though. My dad loves this show. He even quotes it randomly.

I wasn’t actually supposed to watch this. My mom didn’t want me to. I needed to stay at latchkey after school since my parents couldn’t pick me up right away - this would’ve been 5th grade in 1999 - and we ended up watching Toonami. I slowly got my dad into it so my mom could give in but she loves this show now.

It was pretty much the ‘guy’ thing to watch with Sailor Moon being for the girls. Of course now I know how stupid that is and my girlfriend and I are very much looking forward to the new Sailor Moon anime this summer. But this show was so wicked. I’m pretty sure that I went as Goku for Halloween one year.
